In short
Scouted uses one cookie, to keep you signed in, and keeps a few settings in your browser. We use no analytics, no ads and no tracking, so there is nothing to consent to and no cookie banner.
Settings in your browser
These are kept in your browser’s local storage. They are never sent to us and stay until you clear them:
- scouted-theme: your light, dark or system theme in the app.
- scouted-home-theme: your light or dark theme on the home page.
- scouted-auth-appearance: your theme on the sign-in and sign-up pages.
- scouted-sidebar: whether you collapsed the app sidebar.
- scouted-recruiter-note: recruiters only. Private notes on a candidate, saved on this device.
- scouted.name_banner: recruiters only. Remembers that you dismissed the reminder to add your name.
Paddle
Seeker payments go through Paddle. So that checkout opens quickly, our site loads Paddle’s checkout script on every page except the home and pricing pages. Paddle may set its own cookies, mainly when you open checkout, to take the payment and prevent fraud. Paddle’s own policies cover them; see Paddle’s buyer terms.
Error monitoring
We use Sentry to find errors in the app. It sets no cookies, and reports are scrubbed of email addresses, CV text and message bodies before they leave your browser.
What we do not use
No analytics, no advertising, no tracking pixels and no social media widgets. If that ever changes, we will update this page and ask for your consent first.
